4 Berth 10: Auto Dock
1,040-foot floating auto dock
Dock Height: 15 feet
Berth Depth: 40 feet (mlw)*
The floating auto dock, cargo staging area and leased auto processing
facility was completed in 1995. It is a fully modern facility capable
of high volume unloading, sorting and staging. The first major user
of the facility, Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) signed an initial
5-year contract with the Port in 1992. The facility functioned so
well that the Port of Vancouver, USA, was Subaru's sole port of
entry in the United States until increases in U.S. demand deemed
an East Coast facility necessary. SOA, headquartered in Cherry Hill,
New Jersey, is a subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries, Ltd. of Japan.
Subaru controls a 30,000 square-foot auto processing warehouse
and 40-acre cargo backup area for its operations. They set the pace
in vehicle processing with a continuous commitment to quality, state-of-the-art
facilities and equipment, a strong management team with extensive
automotive experience, and a well-trained, motivated workforce dedicated
to customer satisfaction.
Auto Warehousing Company (AWC) serves as Subaru's auto processor
preparing vehicles for transfer via truck or rail to auto dealerships.
