VANCOUVER, Wash. – View beautiful conceptual drawings for the redevelopment of Terminal One and enjoy a local tradition – the Christmas Ships – at a Dec. 8 Port of Vancouver USA open house on the waterfront.

What:     Open house for Terminal One redevelopment concept
When:     Tuesday, Dec. 8, 5:30 to 9 p.m. (stop by anytime)
Where:   Former The Quay Restaurant, 100 Columbia Street, Vancouver

Visitors to this family-friendly event can talk with port staff about Terminal One, enjoy complimentary treats from the port and Clark College, and see the annual Christmas Ships Parade as it makes its way down the Columbia River. The ships are expected to be visible from Terminal One starting around 8 p.m.

Those with an appetite can also support Vancouver businesses while learning about the port’s waterfront development. Local food carts, including Dutch Bros. Coffee, Esoteric BBQ, Ingrid’s Good Street Food and Steakburger On the Go, will serve up gourmet street food for purchase in the Terminal One parking lot during the open house.

The Port of Vancouver is redeveloping its birthplace on the Columbia River. Currently the focus of a master planning process, Terminal One could host such amenities as a hotel, retail and commercial space, and public areas able to support nonprofit and recreational activities.

The port and its economic development partners recently welcomed AbSci LLC as the first new tenant at the new Columbia River Life Sciences Technology Building at the west end of Terminal One. The growing company will soon occupy a portion of the former Red Lion hotel building. The port will renovate the space into the first dedicated life sciences technology lab space in Southwest Washington, allowing AbSci the flexibility to expand and greatly increasing the region’s ability to attract additional companies in the coveted biotechnology sector.
