Keyera Energy becomes first industrial tenant at Terminal 5

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Port of Vancouver commissioners today unanimously authorized a ground lease with Keyera Energy, allowing the company to relocate its Vancouver Terminal to the port’s new Terminal 5.

The agreement makes Keyera the first industrial tenant at the port’s new Terminal 5 – formerly the site of Alcoa and Evergreen Aluminum. Keyera receives and distributes propane in the Vancouver area.

Ports support governors’ plans to advance bridge project

The Ports of Vancouver and Portland today announced their support of the Washington and Oregon governors’ letter stating the Columbia River Crossing Project move forward without delay.  The letter is in response to requests for further review of the project from City of Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt, Clark County Commissioner Steve Stuart, City of Portland Mayor Sam Adams and Metro Council President, David Bragdon.

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Economic development is happening, on the ground now at the Port of Vancouver USA, which was the big news at Thursday’s Port Re:Port, the annual State of the Port Address at the Red Lion Hotel Vancouver at the Quay.

In his State of the Port Address, Executive Director Larry Paulson said there is evidence of the types of economic development and jobs currently happening at the port – which calls itself the “Port of Possibility” – happening all over the port, even as he addressed a sold-out audience.

Port Commission to meet for first time in 2010

VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Port of Vancouver USA Board of Commissioners will meet for the first time in 2010, Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 9:30 a.m. to attend to 10 action items.

Commissioners Jerry Oliver, Brian Wolfe and Nancy Baker will meet Tuesday with open session beginning at 9:30 a.m., in the Commission Room at the port’s administration building, 3103 NW Lower River Road.

Murray secures federal funding for West Vancouver Freight Access

VANCOUVER, Wash. – U.S. Sen. Patty Murray (D, Wash.) has helped secure the largest federal appropriation yet for the Port of Vancouver USA’s West Vancouver Freight Access project.

The $2,922,000 appropriation was included in the final version of the FY 2010 Consolidated Appropriations Act, and will be used to build rail lines in and around the port facilities, including a loop at the port’s new Terminal 5.

IMS Electronics Recycling ready for “old computers”, more

Port Commission authorizes rail project contract with Rotschy

Port of Vancouver USA welcomes Argent Bloom on first call to USA

VANCOUVER, Wash. — The Port of Vancouver USA welcomed the MT Argent Bloom, commanded by Capt. Su-Seung Yang of South Korea, on its first voyage to the United States on October 14, 2009.

 

Yang and his 20-member crew were welcomed to Vancouver by Gary Martinke, local agent for Inchcape Shipping Services along with port representatives Lars Uglum, Scott Goodrich, and Debbie Taylor.
