February 6, 2007 -- Port of Vancouver, USA welcomed the M/V Dorado Leader, captained by Rajesh Thamara from India, on her first visit to Vancouver, Washington, February 5, 2007. The M/V Dorado Leader is owned by FGL Marguerite Panama S.A., operated by NYK Ship Management PTE Ltd., and represented locally by Inchcape Shipping of Portland, Oregon.
Capt. Thamara and the 22-member crew were welcomed to Vancouver by Gary Martinke, Inchcape Shipping Services; Ann Tetreault, Subaru of America; Mike Munson, Marine Terminals Corp.; and Mike Schiller, Operations Manager from the Port of Vancouver.

The M/V Dorado Leader is a pure car carrier vessel built in Japan and launched in November 2006. It is 199.94 meters in length, with the capacity to carry 6,333 vehicles. The crew for the vessel’s first visit to the Port of Vancouver, USA, was from India, Bangladesh and the Philippines.

The M/V Dorado Leader discharged 980 Subaru automobiles from Japan at Port of Vancouver’s Terminal 4, stevedored by Marine Terminals Corporation. Port of Vancouver is the only West Coast port of entry for Subaru imports and has received more than half a million units since opening in 1995.
