Port of Vancouver names Kesler as security supervisor

March 19, 2008 -- A Former Washington State Patrol Trooper Mike Kesler is the newest member of the Port of Vancouver’s security department.

Recently retired from a 25-year career with the State Patrol, Kesler has been hired as the port’s security supervisor, where he will supervise security officers, and handle scheduling and training of the security staff.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Kesler was most recently one of eight Public Information Officers responsible for the WSP’s District 5 (Southwest) region.

Kesler attended Walla Walla Community College and the University of Oregon, where he played football and studied liberal arts at both schools.

He has also coached football at Evergreen High School, including the school’s first state championship season, and he is currently coaching defensive linemen at Union High School.

Kesler lives in Vancouver with his wife Terry and their three sons Ryan (22), Brandon (20) and Shane (18).
