Aug. 14 port workshop to include update on draft strategic plan, vision statement
VANCOUVER, Wash. — The Port of Vancouver USA will hold a public workshop immediately after the regularly scheduled Aug. 14 Board of Commissioners meeting to present a comprehensive draft plan and share vision statement language with the commission.
The port’s current vision statement is “A premier port that is globally recognized and well capitalized with state-of-the-industry facilities, infrastructure and service providing accountable economic benefit.” At the Aug. 2 workshop, the commission expressed interest in adjusting the port’s vision statement to reflect how the community could look if the port is successful in its mission. Port consultant Maul Foster & Alongi recorded commissioner feedback and developed vision statement language for consideration at the Aug. 14 workshop.
Materials presented Aug. 14 will be posted at www.portvanusa.com/key-projects/strategic-plan following the workshop.
The draft plan will be open for public comment from Aug. 14 through Sept. 4. Public comments can be submitted at Board of Commissioners meetings, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org and via mail at 3103 Northwest Lower River Road, Vancouver, WA 98660.
Citizens can also contact their commissioner directly; contact information is available at www.portvanusa.com/commission/communicating-with-the-commission.
The port expects to present the final strategic plan for commission consideration and potential adoption at the Sept. 11 Board of Commissioners meeting.
