Meeting is open to the public, but space is limited

VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Port of Vancouver USA Board of Commissioners will meet at 1 p.m. Friday, April 15, to consider a lease amendment for Vancouver Energy, the proposed oil transfer facility at the port.

The commission held its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 12, at Clark College’s Gaiser Hall. The meeting was moved to Clark College and extended into the evening to support public access and comment.

Commissioners and port staff heard from Vancouver Energy executives and more than 200 speakers Tuesday. Public comment began at 10:30 a.m. and continued until the last comment was heard at 7:30 p.m. Commission President Jerry Oliver then recessed the meeting until 1 p.m. Friday, April 15.

Friday’s meeting will be held at the port’s administrative offices, located at 3103 Northwest Lower River Road, Vancouver. The meeting is open to the public, but no public comment will be taken.

The port’s Board of Commissioners meeting room has a capacity of 70 people, including overflow into the lobby. For those with limited access, the meeting will be live-streamed on www.cvtv.org and live-tweeted @portvanusa.

Port office parking is also limited, and attendees are encouraged to carpool or use alternate forms of transportation.
