8:30 a.m. start time aimed at increasing accessibility, engagement

VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Port of Vancouver USA Board of Commissioners has unanimously approved a resolution changing the start time for regularly scheduled board meetings to 8:30 a.m.

Commission meetings have begun at 9:30 a.m. since 1990. In response to public feedback, the commission voted Dec. 11 to shift the start time up an hour to help increase community accessibility and engagement.

The 8:30 a.m. start time goes into effect in January 2019. Commission meetings will continue to be held in the Commission Room at the port’s administrative offices, located at 3103 Northwest Lower River Road, Vancouver.

The port has cancelled its second regularly scheduled board meeting in December, as it falls on Christmas Day. The next board meeting is scheduled for Jan. 8.

The Port of Vancouver USA Board of Commissioners holds regular public meetings every second and fourth Tuesday of the month. Meetings include opportunities for public comment and are broadcast on Clark/Vancouver Television cable channels 21 and 23, live-streamed via www.cvtv.org and live-tweeted at www.twitter.com/portvanusa.
