This week we bring you Centennial Moment #2 presented by port records officer Matt Oftedahl. The Standifer Shipyards were monumental in the port’s early success. The vessels produced at the shipyard were also vital in World War 1, among other uses. Matt delves into the fascinating history of Guy Standifer himself and his genius that led to one of the most significant shipyards along the Columbia River.
