River

The port is located 106 river miles from the Pacific Ocean on the Columbia River, directly serving the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan marketplace. One of the closest U.S. West Coast ports to the Upper Midwest and Western Canada

Road

Interstate 5, the main north/south West Coast motor freight route between Canada and Mexico, is located just two miles from the port. Equally significant, Interstate 84, a major regional east/west freight route, is just 10 miles from the port.

Rail

The port has direct unit train and carload service from the BNSF Railway and Union Pacific Railroad’s north/south and east/west mainline corridors. Port facilities have connections to all seven Class 1 railroads in North America.

Ready-to-go industrial Inventory

Currently the port has approximately 850 acres dedicated to marine and industrial use that provide over 3 million square feet of buildings, land and facilities for the more than 50 tenants located at the port.

Especially significant in today’s economy is the port’s ability to access various funding sources for project developments that need an added boost. Alternatives that exist for qualifying port projects include revenue bond financing, the New Markets Tax Credit Program, and industrial development corporation bond financing, among others.
