VANCOUVER, Wash. – Final review of draft goals and strategies is on the agenda for an Aug. 2 Port of Vancouver USA special workshop as the port continues the process to update its strategic plan.

This is the sixth public workshop on strategic planning the port has held since starting its plan update in October 2017. The workshop is open to the public and begins at 1:30 p.m. at the port’s administrative offices, 3103 Northwest Lower River Road, Vancouver.

During the workshop, the port’s Board of Commissioners will hear a recap of public comment received to date; review goals and strategies formed through several months of research and input from staff, stakeholders and the public; discuss the port’s mission and vision statement and; see a preliminary outline for the final plan.

All materials presented Aug. 2 will be posted at www.portvanusa.com/key-projects/strategic-plan following the workshop.

There is no open forum for public comment during workshops, but the port continues to accept public comment at its Board of Commissioners meetings, via email at communityfeedback@portvanusa.com and via mail at 3103 Northwest Lower River Road, Vancouver, WA 98660.

Next steps
After the Aug. 2 workshop, port staff and consultants will incorporate commissioner feedback and produce a draft plan for presentation at the Aug. 14 regularly scheduled Board of Commissioners meeting.

The port expects to present the final plan for commission consideration and potential adoption at the Sept. 11 Board of Commissioners meeting.
