Monty Edberg was appointed Director of Engineering and Project Delivery at the Port of Vancouver USA in June 2015. His responsibilities include capital development at the port. He serves as technical lead and Program Manager for the West Vancouver Freight Access Project, which is the largest capital development initiative in port history. Monty works closely with all departments at the port and is knowledgeable in such areas as project finance, operations, marine facilities, port security and cargo handling.
Monty has been actively involved in civil engineering and project management since 1993. He has worked in both public and private sectors, giving him invaluable knowledge and insight into port projects. Prior to his appointment to Director, Monty served as the port’s Engineering Manager for nearly eight years. He has also worked as a project engineer for a variety of companies throughout Oregon and Washington.
Monty graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University. He also obtained a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Portland State University.
In his free time, Monty enjoys golfing, skiing, surfing and wakeboarding with his wife and two children.
