VANCOUVER, Wash. – Enjoy festive treats, see the Christmas Ships and learn more about waterfront redevelopment at a Dec. 5 open house at the Port of Vancouver USA’s Terminal 1.

The port is hosting this free, family-friendly event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the WareHouse ’23 event space in the former Red Lion hotel, 100 Columbia St., Vancouver.

The Christmas Ships are expected to make their arrival in front of Terminal 1 around 8 p.m. There are plenty of festivities to keep visitors busy in the interim, including live music by Vancouver Community Concert Band, coffee, hot chocolate, cookies and a cash bar for those 21 and older, provided by WareHouse ’23.

The port’s waterfront project team will also be on hand to share the latest on plans to redevelop Terminal 1. There is no formal presentation; the community is encouraged to drop by anytime during the event to talk with staff and ask questions.

Parking is available at Terminal 1 as well as along Columbia Way. Outdoor ship viewing will also be available at the high dock above the amphitheater; those interested in outdoor viewing should dress for the weather.

About Terminal 1
The Port of Vancouver USA is redeveloping a 10-acre site it owns on the Columbia River. Known as Terminal 1, the 10-acre site is the port’s birthplace and home to its first warehouse, built in the 1920s through a partnership with the City of Vancouver. When fully developed, Terminal 1 could feature a public marketplace, new hotel, retail and commercial office space, and visitor amenities.
